This year was the 160th birthday of the Point Bonita Lighthouse that provides safe passage into the San Francisco bay. I loved volunteering as a docent there at the lighthouse for 3 years! (Yes, even with GPS and other navigational devices, the ship captains rely on the lighthouses which always just work! Those tried and true old ways.)

I really enjoy being a docent at the Point Bonita Lighthouse. Saturday was particularly noteworthy. I seriously thought the lighthouse would be closed because of weather, but at the last minute, the day cleared up nicely. Well, until a couple of brief storms rushed in from the Pacific!

Yesterday I was a VIP at PoBo—a volunteer in the park at the Point Bonita Lighthouse. I love volunteering there! It’s so beautiful. I leave with sore legs but a lighter spirit. We always have several hundred visitors. They are always so friendly and love the location.
