The Week in iPhoneography

I’ve mentioned before that I really like the @KitCam and @PhotoForge2 iPhone apps. This first photo of the Golden Gate Bridge is another example of what they can do. The remainder of the photos were just shot with KitCam, my Instagram replacement choice. I really like these iOS apps! (Clicking any image opens a larger view of the photo.)  … Continue reading

More Roaming Around Land’s End

Today we went east, toward to bridge and away from the ocean. We walked over 15,000 steps, went up/down the equivalent of 22 flights of stairs, and encountered a “Closed Trail” sign that had a large notice: “People have fallen to their deaths from this trail. Keep Out!” We didn’t go that way! The Eagle Point Labyrinth is indeed an… Continue reading

Roaming Around Land’s End

When the Sistoid Unit came to visit back in the summer, we explored part of the Land’s End area of San Francisco. I’ve tried to get Steve go to ever since, but one thing and then another. Well, today, first thing this morning, we went exploring. I used the time to scout for later photos with my “real” camera equipment.… Continue reading

Northern Lights: Days 6 – 11 – Plague

The Polar Night Half Marathon went off without issue and even featured some nice fireworks at the start and finish. The bars were open until late (or early…). From the hotel restaurant area, I could see some of the festive town streets. They were simply gorgeous in the holiday lights, snow, and ice! Tromsø is such a quaint town inside… Continue reading

Northern Lights: Day 5 – Travel Day to Norway

Pumped full of drugs, today I traveled to Oslo and then on to Tromsø. The car ride from the airport into Tromsø proper was interesting. I’ve never before experienced a roundabout deep inside a mountain tunnel! They also have intersections in the tunnel as well. The view from the hotel room was wonderful! You can see my favorite cathedral, The… Continue reading

Volunteering at the Lighthouse

I really enjoy being a docent at the Point Bonita Lighthouse. Saturday was particularly noteworthy. I seriously thought the lighthouse would be closed because of weather, but at the last minute, the day cleared up nicely. Well, until a couple of brief storms rushed in from the Pacific! We close the bridge when the wind reaches 27mph. And while it… Continue reading

No. No More. I’m Fed Up!

I loathe corporate America trying to own American culture. But I double loathe it when they try to own my contributions to culture and do not allow me to opt out! I will not have it. I’ve been a huge fan of Instagram, ever since it first arrived on the tech scene. I love that app. You have seen me… Continue reading

Bay Area iPhoneography

This afternoon we meandered around Sausalito and Point Bonita. I just watched the parade of lighted boats and the holiday fireworks (from the house). What a wonderful city! To get more familiar with kitCam, I shot a few pics along the way. You can see from the larger images just one of the reasons why I much prefer kitCam to… Continue reading
