The sun rises from the east, right? The Pacific Ocean is off to the west.
Now I’ve lived through almost 23,000 sunrises and have never seen the rising sun impact the color of the ocean surf (or the Gulf of Mexico surf for that matter). I’ve seen it impact the color of the water at sunset but never at sunrise–until recently.
These photos were all shot at sunrise. This particular sunrise was very intense, unusually intense.
The color in the sky ranged from pastel pink to hot oranges. The white surf took on the pink color of the sky.
