I’m posting this not so much because the photos are cute, but because all of the photos were shot with my iPhone X. I was inside the house with Waldo. He and the squirrel were having a casual conversation with each other. The squirrel was outside and was at least 25 feet away from us.

I had the Moment 60mm telephoto lens on the iPhone. I used the Lightroom app camera app. The app was set to use the telephoto lens of the iPhone itself. So this is a telephoto on top of a telephoto. Additionally, I digitally zoomed in on the outside beast as far as the iPhone digital zoom would go.
The biggest difficulty was holding the camera still with only my hands. That much zoom creates a massive amount of motion from even the very slightest camera movement. I propped the camera itself up against the glass in the door, through which I was shooting.
After shooting several images, I edited them in Lightroom CC and selected these for this post.
So, I guess what I’m saying is that I’m impressed that any smartphone could create the images below. The device definitely had some help, but still… just amazing!
