When we travel to a new city, we just walk, walk, walk. We walk everywhere. Such was the case when we arrived in Dublin, Ireland. Ah! I loved Ireland! Our walkabout took us unexpectedly to the campus of Trinity College which was established in 1592.
These are just two of the photos I shot while we were briefly on the campus quad. I saw this sign about the Book of Kells (circa 800 AD), which is on permanent display in one of the college library buildings. But we were tired. We had walked all day long, probably over 20,000 steps and were still a distance from the hotel. We didn’t go to any of the college library buildings.

If Steve, a great lover of books!, knew we missed his walking into this holy cathedral of books, The Long Room, he would wail for weeks! I post this for our friend, Art, who is also a bibliophile. I can smell these books from here!

Upon reflection, I really think it best we never went in The Long Room back in 2009. Steve never would have come out. They would have called security. Things would have spiraled out of control. The obligatory prison term. Then the whole epic #SaveBibliophileSteve hashtag craze on social media. Things just get out of control too quickly when old tries to live among new…
Hahaha, Tim, this is too funny!!! I completely get it. I am crazy about books and reading too. That looks like it was an amazing trip.
