Yes, as the candidates themselves talk about Christ all the time, as if he were on their campaign staff, this brought things into perspective—an actor playing Jesus quoting things these candidates actually are saying. Now, some folks might be quick to judge this as sacrilegious. I would respond by countering, “What these candidates are peddling in the name of Jesus is the sacrilege!”
Whether you like it or not, Bernie Sanders, when he spoke a Falwell’s Liberty University, spoke more Christ-like than anybody. He spoke of the moral imperative of his positions. He used their language to persuade them his positions were the moral positions. I mean, you just couldn’t argue with that. But, of course…
