French Bay, New Zealand, Panorama
As you can easily see from the Google Map, the French Bay, New Zealand, (in Akaroa) was once a volcano. The south side collapsed, letting in the South Pacific Ocean which formed the French Bay. The area has little development and is beautiful. Our lodge in this tiny community was an historic building that sat very close to the bay itself. As this was off season, the town was quiet and lovely!
I shot this pano as the sun was coming up behind the volcanic hills and clouds. The rocky beach caught a beautiful glow at low tide. I present the pano with a rather intense HDR processing because it most closely captures what the area actually looked like in the beautiful morning sun.
