Golden Gate Bridge Early Morning Fog

Driving the 50mm 1.2 L Prime

For some inexplicable reason, I’ve considered this Canon lens as a portrait lens. Not until yesterday did I decide to take it out and push it around in the wild. The lens is amazing—offering a huge range of possibilities. The images, though you will not be able to notice from these small JPEGs, are super clean and spot on sharp.

My biggest problem as a photographer is loving a shallow depth of field and not having (or wanting to use) a tripod with me for the shot. Inevitably I get a low shutter speed and therefore miss tack sharp focus. This lens provides a huge range I just don’t get with the two lens I most commonly use!

I’m in love!

All of these pictures were shot with the 50mm 1.2 L prime. I also, for the first time, played with coloring an image just for kicks. (Click any image to enlarge it.)
