Foggy Sunrise

Mount Diablo Fires Make for Awesome Bay Sunrise Time Lapse

The fires east of Mount Diablo threw so much smoke and particles into the sky that the sunrises the past few days seemed unusually colorful.

On Monday morning I was amazed by the colors of the sky and the fog rushing into the bay through the Golden Gate. I ran into the house, grabbed my camera, and hastily set up for this time lapse just before the sun peeked out over the Berkley Hills. It turned out well.

Unfortunately, I didn’t take the time to calculate manual settings, weigh the tripod down (It was very windy.), block the eye piece, or clean the lens. All of these omissions cause problems. But there just wasn’t time.  Otherwise, a cool time lapse.

Maybe one of these days, I will get the perfect time lapse!
