
I remember these vividly as a child. I was small enough to crawl under the end table in the living room and play with the colorful packages on the floor.
For some reason, I was enamored with the happy looking faces and the contrast of the vivid color on the white packet. Keep in mind the packets were pure white. In these pictures, they appear something less than white.
Memory is an interesting thing, too. I always thought they were Kool Aid. But these were made by Pillsbury to directly compete with Kool Aid. At 10 cents a packet, they were minting money with these in 1964!
Two years later, 1966, several products were rebranded for political correctness. New flavors were added.












Ultimately, Pillsbury removed all of these from the market. At that time they were selling 16 flavors. As you can see from the final photo, the reason they were removed was because they were artificially sweetened with saccharin, which was determined to cause cancer. I personally find the disconnect between the front of the packaging and the back very concerning!


And I always thought having the drink stand would be a ton of fun!
