New HD Cursors in OS 10.7

Well, it’s about time! At some point, presumably when I upgraded to 10.7, Apple upgraded their enlarged cursors.

I have two very large monitors, and I frequently can’t find my cursor. It gets lost! It’s so small on the screen, I must wiggle it all over the place trying to locate it.

As a solution to this problem, I use System Preferences –> Universal Access –> Mouse & Trackpad and change the cursor size. In previous versions of the operating system, enlarging the cursor produced this really ugly, highly jagged cursor that was so unsightly. However, in 10.7.3, the cursors are much improved.

In the image below, you can see the differences. The pictures are the actual sizes of the cursors on the screen when at their largest size.

And, as you can see in the screenshot below, the hand cursor is totally cute! Regrettably, I simply can find no way to capture an image of the insertion point cursor, which is the cursor that has always been impossibly difficult to see because it is so thin. The new HD version of this cursor is fantastically improved.
