Today began with a ferry trip in the pouring rain, had several glacier sightings, and ended with the stunning Briksdalbreen (Briksdal Glacier in Olden), near the hotel in Loen.

The Jostedalbreen is the largest glacier on the European mainland, covering 486 square kilometers (and shrinking everyday despite the fact that Mr. Bush doesn't believe in global warming).

All of the glaciers I saw today were really only small  branches of this enormous glacier.
