It is with profound sadness that I tell you our dear Kat, Conrad, who we affectionately called “Beast” is no longer with us. He lived a long and happy life: 17 years and 4 months. We absolutely adored him. Well, everyone who met him adored him.
Conrad was the friendliest cat I’ve ever known. He knew no strangers. He would always come to greet new people when they came to the house. He saw people as an opportunity for being petted, for rubbing up against, for purring loudly.
He was much more like a dog than a cat. He would always be in the room where we were. Even in the end, when he could barely walk, he would come halfway down the stairs and yell at me to come get him and put him in my lap while I worked at the computer. I always did as he wished. He would purr happily.
He had a long and wonderful life and brought into our lives a great deal of love and joy. We miss him terribly.
I want to heartily recommend Dr. Huggins of the Intown Animal Hospital. She provided our beast with several more months of quality, pain-free, happy life. She was as deeply upset at the end of his life as we are. She is without doubt the best veterinarian I have ever encountered. Like everyone else, she fell in love with our beast. If you need a vet, I can not recommend her enough.
Our hearts are heavy. Very heavy.
Sweet dreams, our dear Beast.
