Your Local Police Militarization

SWAT Militaries Police GearDoes this not concern anyone but me?!

Does this make you feel safer??!

This is insane!

We are running in the wrong direction as fast as we can.

Why?

Police militarization is hurting the wrong people.

Is government anticipating our running out of drinking water because of all of the fracking poisoning the drinking water or because of the depletion of the water sheds from mega-corporate owned over farming (for huge profits) from feeding the world instead of our nation? Let’s not forget to combine global warming with running out of water in the central farm belt’s watershed. So, this means no food and no water. This would result in wars in the streets.

Or maybe the extreme wealthy are worried the masses will get a little testy when they realize democracy is all but dead?

I know, it’s those damned terrorists on every street corner!

The drug kingpins

A recent New York Times article by Matt Apuzzo reported that in the Obama era, “police departments have received tens of thousands of machine guns; nearly 200,000 ammunition magazines; thousands of pieces of camouflage and night-vision equipment; and hundreds of silencers, armored cars and aircraft.”  The result is that police agencies around the nation possess military-grade equipment, turning officers who are supposed to fight crime and protect communities into what look like invading forces from an army. And military-style police raids have increased in recent years, with one count putting the number at 80,000 such raids last year.”

  1. Concerns the hell out of me. Was talking about this last week. They dress up in SWAT kit to serve a damn warrant now and every search is a No-Knock with stun grenades and automatic weapons. We fight our wars now as if they were police problems and police our neighborhoods as if our constabulary were Special Forces operatives.
