Eldredge Tie Knot

Who Knew Knotting a Tie Could Be So Interesting…

Apparently Alex Krasny has a thing for tying tie knots. I’ve been victimized by the same old tie knot my entire life. But now, he has introduced me to a world of tie knot fun!

So, for my future reference (the next time I need to tie a tie and want to live closer to the edge of tie knot fashion), I present his excellent tutorials on 3 different tie knots:

  1. The Eldredge knot

  2. The Trinity knot

  3. The Cape knot

Just for the record, my favorite is the Eldredge. I have always used the Pratt knot (not knowing the knot’s name—I think I’ve known it as the Windsor knot. ) and was aware of the Four in Hand knot (which I’ve always found to look a bit sloppy no me). All of the pictures are from his blog, Agree of Die. Alex’ collection of posts about tying the knots can be found at this link.

Below are his excellent How-To videos that clearly demonstrate tying each knot. The videos are even mirrored to make it easier to follow along.

And, finally, here are two diagrams showing how to tie these knots:
