The Lovely Palace of Fine Arts

The Palace of Fine Arts was built for the 1915 Panama-Pacific Exposition held here in San Francisco. It’s the only building from the exposition that still stands at its original location in the Marina District. Only one exhibit remains on display in the city from the exposition, and it is built into the War Memorial Auditorium across from City Hall. Interestingly, the Palace was originally only built to stand for the one year of the 1915 exposition.

Today it is a beautiful, quiet oasis in the city, a place to relax and enjoy the grand structure. Perhaps I should have included a person or two in the pano to provide the viewer with a sense of perspective.

I created this pano during the sistoid unit’s visit. This is the first pano I’ve ever created that begins by looking up at the ceiling…
