Memorial Day Weekend, 2011

It all started last night.  The wind from the ocean was blasting through the house making loud sounds as it did.  The sheers in the bedroom were flying about continuously.  And it was cool—very, very cool: in the lower 50’s. Perfect sleeping weather!

I love days like today:  sunshine, very breezy, and very cool: 62º. It was so cool and windy that the beaches were empty. When I walked on the beach in El Segundo, the wind was so intense the blowing sand would sting my face. Yikes! The few souls who tried to brave the wind gave up after their metal-framed canopies were destroyed by the wind.

Here’s a brief video, shot on an the 8mm app on the iPhone, to give you some sense of it.
