For the last three years we have hosted a film festival in which every team of students was required to submit a 2 minute movie based on a theme or a topic from the students’ curriculum. The theme this year was “Imagine…” The culminating activity is “Oscar Night” at school, the most widely attended event of the year, tuxes and eveningwear, red carpet, skylights, Pre- and Post-event parties, and even trophies resembling Oscars. The entire process from start to finish is digital and completely the work of the students, ages 11 to 14. The quality of the student work is so high and competitive that students have actually been hired to do professional video work by local business people.
Much of this event is posted on the school website.
